Indian Community in Brunei

India has a relatively large expatriate community in Brunei, estimated at about 7500. While the majority comprises workers in the construction sector, arriving in Brunei mostly in recent years, upto 3000 have been living here for a period of time and they constitute the mainstay of the community. They are in vocations like doctors, teachers, petty trade, restaurants, grocery stores, tailors, barbers, washermen, drivers, and gardeners, etc. They have come to enjoy a good standing in Brunei for their competence, dedication, and law-abiding and harmonious living in the local society
